The Hill Club, a private members-only establishment, welcomes international visitors on holiday in Sri Lanka and guests of members for exclusive tours. These tours provide an opportunity to explore the club's rich history, enjoy meals or drinks in the restaurant and bar, or indulge in afternoon high tea. To ensure a seamless experience, prior reservations are required. Please use the inquiry option to book your club tour or make your dining reservation.
For bespoke events like weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, or any private dining experience, you can book our Club exclusively, including a complete buyout of our rooms and facilities. Reservations can be made by Club Members or through sponsorship for Temporary Members (tourists). This ensures a privileged and memorable occasion in our scenic garden and historic setting.
Club Access
As a private members Club, access to the Club is granted according to the following:
A Club Member, or their invited guests.
A person who is a non-resident of Sri Lanka, who visits Sri Lanka on a tourist Visa – is eligible to be accommodated, visit or dine as a temporary member at the Hill Club. A Temporary membership fee, per person, will be applicable.
Temporary members are not permitted to entertain any residents of Sri Lanka to the Club (Drivers, Sri Lankan partners, etc.) other than members of the Club.
Temporary members should respect and adhere to all Club Rules, which will be briefed at your arrival.
Smoking
As per the Government regulations, smoking is not permitted in public areas. A smoking room has been allocated for smokers in the Billiards Room area.
Child Policy
Children below 5-year of age are not allowed into the main premises.
Families with Children below age of 5 years, can be accommodated in our Chalet Rooms, on request and availability.
Access to the All Bars is restricted for anyone below age of 21 years.
Dress Code
Club Dress Code is effective from 7 pm onwards.
Whoever, needs to utilize the Mixed Bar, Main Dining Room, Ladies Lounge, the Gentleman are requested to be attired in jacket and tie and the ladies should be in suitable attire for the evening. No jeans, denims will be permitted in these areas.
If required Jackets and ties for Gents could be borrowed from the Club, free of charge.
Whoever, who wishes to be in casual (in an accepted manner – no shorts, no slippers or three quarters during dinner time) they could dine in the “Lilly Casual Dining” Restaurant and the Casual Bar.
Tipping of staff
The Club has adopted a no individual tipping policy, any tips that you wish to offered in appreciation of services rendered, should be made into the Gift box near the reception area. This ensure that all our staff are benefited, the collection is distributed equally among all staff, monthly.
Chauffers and Nannies
Chauffers and Nannies are not permitted in the Guest rooms or Public areas of the Club, they are provided suitable accommodation on request.
Mobile Usage Policy
Mobile phone conversations are not permitted in below mentioned public areas,
a) Main Dining Room, Mixed Lounge & Casual Dining Room
b) Reading Room
c) Mixed Bar and Casual Bar
d) Monsoon Room
e) Billiard room
However, in these areas, Mobile telephones may be switched on but, immediately on receipt of a call, the recipient should move out to the closet passage / lobby and any conversation thereafter should be carried out as quietly possible.
Pets
Strict no pet policy.
